HUUmanists in Action — This group meets after the service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month to explore the history of Humanism and its application to contemporary social and community issues. Their next meeting is September 28. Everyone is welcome to join in the discussion.
qUUeer — This LGBTQIA+ group meets at 12:15 on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month in the library of the Meetinghouse. Their next meeting is September 28. This group is a safe space for members of the queer community to discuss issues, seek and give comfort and understanding, and work together toward shared goals within our UU framework. While we appreciate our many allies, this particular setting is open only to those who identify as LGBTQIA+ For more information, please send an email to quueer@uufortwayne.org or contact the minister.
Sisters in Good Company Book Group — will meet October 12 at 6pm. We will discuss the book Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Bring a snack to share.
Ayman Jarjour Concert for Magenta Mind — The Indiana Center for Middle East Peace and our UUJME group of 5 is excited to host a concert in the sanctuary featuring Lebanese classical guitarist Ayman Jarjour at 6:30pm on Monday, October 13. The event is a benefit for Magenta Mind, which provides specialist-led mental health training in Arabic-speaking communities in the Middle East, North Africa and elsewhere. Ayman Jarjour is internationally acclaimed and has performed at venues worldwide such as Carnegie Hall. Attendance is free and open to the public. UUCFW will provide coffee before the concert.
Just Neighbors Meal Outreach — Our congregation has agreed to partner with Just Neighbors, an interfaith network that provides emergency shelter for families who are experiencing homelessness in our community. With the help of local congregations, they provide meals for these families while they are staying there. That’s where we come in. We will be providing dinners during the week of Sunday, October 19 – Friday, October 24. The main dishes for each of these meals will be provided by members of our various groups, but we’re also in need of desserts. We’ve set up a sign-up sheet on the table by the social hall. If you’d like to help brighten someone’s day, sign up to bring one of the desserts listed to the church on Sunday, October 19, and we will make sure they are delivered to the shelter.
Book Project — The Advocates for Racial Justice are requesting your assistance with a congregation-wide book collection for the Fort Wayne Urban League’s Banned Book Project. There will be a collection box near the social hall for the entire month of October. Titles of books requested by the Urban League are the following:

Sisters Over Sixty-Five — We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Meetinghouse in the choir room, from 10:30 to Noon. Some of us go to lunch after the meeting. All are welcome. Our next gathering is October 9.
